Why fundraise for BASIC?

 

Bring hope back into people's lives...Hope for those that thought they would
never be able to work and support their own family again.

 

Hope for the families that come to BASIC that are on the point of breaking up because
"Mum has changed since her accident and shouts at the children for no reason",
or "Dad keeps forgetting about the pan on the stove and caused a fire".

 

Hope for the people that have difficulty with adding up numbers or writing a letter
because "it's all gone to pot since my haemorrhage and I can't even spell a name
right on my little daughter's birthday card".

 

Hope for those that feel isolated because "I daren't even go to the supermarket
for fear of forgetting what I went for and I keep forgetting my PIN number and
feel stupid because I keep everyone waiting in the queue. Sometimes I even
get lost walking home. That's why I never go out any more."
