3MDR coming to BASIC for treatment resistant PTSD 3MDR coming to BASIC for treatment resistant PTSD A novel new therapy for treatment-resistant PTSD in veterans is coming to BASIC. EMDR therapists at BASIC are delighted to have been trained in using an exciting, novel and innovative treatment protocol using the Computer Assisted Rehabilitation Environment (CAREN). Joining us in the training was Josh Kreft from the Greater Manchester Military Veterans Service. 3MDR was developed by Prof. Eric Vermetten, a military psychiatrist working for the dutch ministry of defence and Leiden University Medical Centre. He very kindly visited BASIC to train us in his breakthrough treatment which uses EMDR and virtual reality. We are looking forward to piloting this exciting new treatment which has showed a great deal of promise in Canada, the Netherlands, Wales and other areas around the world.
